Even minor vibrations from the room can affect high-performance audio gear. The Solidsteel S3-5 audio stand uses quality materials and construction to keep your components in a virtually vibration-free environment. The five open shelves are ideal for oversized audio components, such as a power amp, preamp, or power conditioner.
Each shelf is made of thick vibration-dampening MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). The supporting aluminum pillars are packed with dampening material for added stability and to prevent the transmission of vibrations. Both the pillars and the shelves are coated with a black polymer laminate, which further dampens vibrations.
The four pillars rest on solid steel carpet spikes that virtually isolate the stand — and the components it holds — from vibrations transmitted through the floor.
Solidsteel Philosophy: Solidsteel's philosophy is that there should be no compromise in the build quality or benefits to sonic performance, and that the products should reflect the Italian "style" of design with the use of excellent materials, clean lines, well-considered utilization of space, and attention to detail.
S3 Series: Drawing from their prestigious Hyperspike technology, Solidsteel has created the new S3 Series of audio racks. The solid and essential structure provides excellent audio performances, while its clean lines make it very pleasing aesthetically - all at a very affordable price.
5 Shelf Audio Rack: The Solidsteel S3-5 audio rack features 5 fixed shelves. The overall height of the rack, and the distance between each shelf, has been carefully calculated to achieve an optimum balance of acoustics and aesthetics.
4-Pillar Design: The four pillar design is geometrically positioned to give maximum support and minimum physical contact with the surrounding environment.
Aluminum & MDF Construction: This 5-shelf audio rack features an aluminum 4-pillar structure with shelves made of 1.18" MDF (medium density fiberboard). The benefits of MDF include a much higher damping factor and superior rigidity over time. Each pillar is filled with a special damping material until it is in "tune" with the MDF shelves for acoustic balance. The aluminum 4-pillar structure & MDF shelves are both finished with a black polymer laminate, also available with walnut veneer shelves.
Spike Feet: Spike feet are included that screw underneath of the audio rack's bottom shelf. The spike feet provide a solid and secure footprint. All spurious mechanical energies are discharged into the ground through the spike feet at the point where the audio rack's legs contact the floor. Protective discs are included to protect hard surface flooring.
